With any service, it is very important to think about your privacy. We believe strongly that your data is yours. We don’t use it, we don’t share it, and we don’t sell it. You’re our customer, not our product.
This is one of the fundamental beliefs Enhanced CPD Pro was built upon.
Any information you share with us is only ever used to provide you with service and support from the Enhanced CPD Pro team. We’ll never open any uploaded files unless you ask us to. We log all access to all accounts by IP address, so we can always verify that no unauthorised access has happened for as long as the logs are kept.
We've tried to keep this document easy to read and understand. If you find that we've slipped into geek-talk or if there's anything that you don't understand, please write to us at email@example.com and we'll explain what we mean.
Please don't be shy - it's our fault if we've made something here unclear here and we'll be happy to fix it.
When you sign up at Enhanced CPD Pro, we ask for your name, GDC Number and email address. That's just so that you can personalise your new account, and we can send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We’ll never sell your personal info to third parties, and we won’t use your name or company in marketing statements without your permission, either.
When you write to Enhanced CPD Pro with a question or to ask for help, we'll keep that correspondence, and the email address, for future reference. When you browse our marketing pages, we'll track that for statistical purposes (like conversion rates and to test new designs). We also store any information you volunteer, like surveys, for as long as it makes sense.
The only times we’ll ever share your info:
Information related to your CPD activity is kept confidential by default. However, we offer a number of features which may require some information to be shared and these are described below.
Switching these features on is always optional and under your control:
If you choose to enable the feature, we'll update your eGDC account automatically every 24 hours. The data that will be shared is limited to the total number of CPD hours you've logged.
If you choose to enable this feature, your Facebook, Twitter and or LinkedIn profiles can be updated whenever you complete a CPD activity that you want to share. The data that will be shared is limited to the title, topic and time of the CPD activity.
Posting to the eGDC and to social networks are completely independent of each other and enabling one does not imply enabling of the other.
A little note about Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and the GDC - our tech plays nicely with theirs but we're not in any way affiliated with them.
We offer a few enhanced services and these usually mean that we'll need to use some of your information to make the magic work:
In order to provide you with statistics about the CPD you log, or recommendations based upon goals you add to your PDP, we have to access your logs to generate the reports and recommendations.
If you're a member of a practice, company or group which uses our enhanced reporting functions, you'll be asked to give the manager or owner of that practice, company or group permission to view information about your CPD. You can also revoke it if you leave the practice, company or group or decide not to share your CPD information with the manager or owner.
When we collect feedback from you in relation to any CPD activity, we'll use some of the quantitative data to provide anonymised feedback to instructors so they can make continual improvements to their courses.
For example, one of the questions we ask you is how clear, on a scale of 1-10, the learning objectives were. When we have a suitable number of responses, we'll add up those scores and send them to the instructor in a report that says something like "The average score for clarity of the learning objectives is 7/10"
All of the above is always done programatically and using encryption which means that none of us humans actually see your information, it's just the software that works with it.
When you visit Enhanced CPD Pro's Website you provide us with personal information you knowingly disclose to us and website interaction information collected by us. We request information from you (which may include name, GDC number, email address, and when necessary, credit card information) when you register for the website, make purchases, request to receive communications, or participate in a promotion or other website feature.
In an effort to understand your preferences and serve you better, we may combine information you give us online with other information from Enhanced CPD Pro sources, transactions and communications. This may include data from the Website, Enhanced CPD Pro apps, direct mail, events, or online marketing. We may also combine that information with data that is publicly available and data that we receive from other reputable sources.
If you choose to use our invitation tools to invite colleagues to our website, we'll ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your colleagues' email addresses. We'll then invite your colleagues in your name to join the website. Enhanced CPD Pro stores certain information to send invitations and reminders and to track the success of our referral program.
We may use the information we collect to:
For the purpose of operating our business, we may transfer information between Enhanced CPD Pro and our preferred service providers who use that information only to conduct Enhanced CPD Pro business.
For example, they may handle Enhanced CPD Pro's credit card processing, shipping, data management, email distribution, market research, information analysis, and promotions management.
We may also share your information to administer a website feature (e.g. partner-provided CPD download or an offline course registration) and in that case will notify you before you give your information. We provide our preferred service providers only with the information they need to perform their services and work with them to protect your information.
We may provide your information to Enhanced CPD Pro wholly-owned companies and affiliates, which may be outside the UK.
When making a purchase, you enter your credit card details into a form supplied by the payment provider that will be processing the payment, and this information goes directly to the payment provider ‘s server. Your credit card information never reaches our servers. We do not access and do not store your credit card information.
When you save your credit card information, it is saved on the respective payment provider's servers and the payment provider gives us a token that you can reuse for future payments. It is not possible to reconstruct your credit card information from the token.
Enhanced CPD Pro won’t hand your data over to law enforcement unless a court order says we have to. We flat-out reject all requests which seek data without a court order. And unless we're legally prevented from it, we’ll always inform you when such requests are made.
All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser or mobile app. The database backups are also encrypted. Data isn’t encrypted while it's live in our database (since it needs to be ready to send to you when you need it), but we go to great lengths to secure your data at rest — you can read more about that on our security page.
We store messages, photos, videos and documents from your chats on our servers, so that you can access your data from any of your devices anytime and use our instant server search to quickly access your messages from any point in history. All data is stored under heavy encryption and the encryption keys in each case are stored in data centres in different jurisdictions. This way local engineers or physical intruders cannot get access to they keys or data.
When you cancel your account, we'll ensure that nothing is stored on our servers past 30 days.
Copies of your User Generated Content may still be viewable in areas displayed outside your profile, in activity feeds, in other areas on the website, on social platforms, in cached and archived pages or if other users have stored your User Generated Content.
You should use our data exporters to download all of your CPD and PDP information before deleting your account. Once your account is deleted, it will be impossible to retrieve your data.
We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive information from Enhanced CPD Pro or would like to update or change your personal information or preferences, follow the instructions below. However, Enhanced CPD Pro may send you service-related announcements from time to time through the general operation of the website or by email.
To modify or delete the information you have provided during registration, please login and update your profile. To unsubscribe from an email, please follow the instructions in any email you receive. Be sure to include your first and last name and account email address in the 'message' box.
To unsubscribe from SMS, MMS or other mobile messaging, please follow the instructions in the messages you receive.
Please note, if you have unsubscribed from any Enhanced CPD Pro communications, due to production schedules, you may receive communications already in production.
Also, if you request your registration information be deleted or if you unsubscribe from communications, we may maintain information about sales transactions or service inquiries for future service and record keeping purposes.
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13.
Enhanced CPD Pro may update this policy once in a blue moon — we’ll notify you about significant changes by emailing the account owner or by placing a prominent notice on our site. You can access, change or delete your personal information at any time by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
Our systems are based in Berkshire, England and Dublin, Ireland and are built on top of Amazon Web Service’s (AWS) cloud infrastructure.
AWS operate a number of highly secure facilities worldwide and have a strong commitment to security. Please see http://aws.amazon.com/compliance for further information about the compliance programs relating to the underlying infrastructure.
Data is never transferred outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).
Cookies are small text files that can be stored on your computer by websites that you visit.
They're widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of a website.
